RACE 1: TROBIS 0 - 58 HCP 1300M

General - Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in regards to the riding instructions he intended to give each jockey as his stable had 3 runners in the event.

RIBERA DEL DUERO ($6.50) – Reared in the barriers and after striking its head sustained a laceration to the tongue and was subsequently withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 2.35pm. All wagers placed on the gelding were ordered to be refunded and the following deductions were applicable to winning bets placed prior to 2.35pm.

BRIMARVI CUGAT (M Tyndall) – Crowded and bumped at the start.

TATAMAGOUCHE (R Oakford) – Raced wide throughout

INTERWOVEN (R Vigar) – Blundered at the start unbalancing the rider. Lay inwards in the early stages. Cast its off fore plate in running.

EXERT (V Arnott) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Cast its near fore plate in running. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a laceration to the near hind leg.

DENY DENY DENY (C Eaton) – Commenced awkwardly.

ARRAYANES (S Altieri) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Crowded for room and steadied near the 550m and yielded ground from thereon.

General – On inquiry it was established that near the 550m BRIMARVI CUGAT (M Tyndall) shifted outwards to improve resulting in ARRAYANES (S Altieri) being crowded for room and steadied by its rider. Stewards considered that ARRAYANES was under pressure at the time of this incident and yielded ground from thereon. Jockey M Tyndall was reprimanded for careless riding under AR137(a) for shifting ground when not fully clear.

RACE 2 - 0 - 64 HCP 1200M

HARREBS TIME (R Vigar) – Bumped at the 600m and again at the 400m. Rider was reminded of his obligation to test his mounts fully to the end of the race.

RED MAGNET (J Keating) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

TIPSY ON RED (F Bergstrand) – Bumped at the start. Lay outwards through the middle stages. Raced wide on straightening.

AUSSIE BOB (M Gray) – Commenced awkwardly and veered outwards at the start.

I WROTE THE BOOK (K Brooks) – Raced wide throughout.

JOLLY BOY (B Huppatz) – Commenced awkwardly. Bumped at the 600m.

EVA'S DAY (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout. Bumped at the 400m.

DASH ABOUT (C Eaton) – Lay outwards approaching the first turn and as a result had to be steadied from heels near the 850m.

RACE 3 - 0 - 58 HCP 1100M

SECOND BASE (J Keating) – Slow into stride. Lay outwards through the middle stages.

THE SOOTHSAYER (B Huppatz) - Lay outwards through the middle stages. Steadied near the 500m.

General – On inquiry it was established that near the 500m TIGRA (K Brooks) shifted inwards when not fully clear resulting in THE SOOTHSAYER (B Huppatz) having to be steadied. Apprentice K Brooks was reprimanded for careless riding under AR137(a).

RACE 4 - BM76 HCP 1100M

YOUR EXCELLENCY (R Vigar) – Bumped at the start.

ITCHYZARIZ (K Brooks) – Crowded and bumped at the start.

I'M A SOLDIER (M Tyndall) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

RACE 5 - CLASS 2 HCP 1000M

POET'S CHOICE (F Bergstrand) – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until taken outwards near the 250m.

BROOKLYN (C Spry) – Raced wide throughout.

STREET ROYALE (R Vigar) – Returned having bled from both nostrils. Trainer T Halter was advised that the gelding is under embargo for 3 months in accordance with AR53A(a).

MACON COUNTY (V Arnott) – Bounded at the start.

DUKE OF YORK (M Gray) – Slow into stride.

LADY FLEETFOOT (B Huppatz) – Returned having bled from the near side nostril. Trainer G Clarke was advised that the mare must perform in a satisfactory gallop over 1000m prior to racing again in accordance with AR53A(6).

Post race samples were taken from all winners. Pre race samples were taken from YOUR EXCELLENCY, ITCHYZARIZ, TEQUILA RED, I’M A SOLDIER & STAY TIL DAWN.
