General

All runners engaged in the Alice Springs Cup (R8) underwent veterinary examinations on 28 April, 2017.

ST CAJETAN was displaying lameness in the off fore leg as a result of an abscess. The gelding received supervised treatment for this condition and was again examined by the veterinarian on 30 April, 2017 and was cleared to compete. Stewards permitted a plating change of the addition of an off fore bar plate and this information was disseminated.

On race morning Stewards inspected all runners engaged to compete at the meeting and conducted stable compliance checks with no reportable issues or rule breaches detected.
