General: Due to thunderstorm activity the start times following race 1 were amended as

follows: race 2 – 4.10pm, race 3 – 5.10pm, race 4 – 5.40pm, race 5 – 6.15pm

Race 1: BMNT 1300m

PATRIA (B Davis) – Lay outwards rounding the home turn.

HESEZSO (J Todd) – Slow to muster early speed.

GERONIMO’S SON (K Gladwin) – Carried outwards rounding the home turn.

REWARD FOR RICHES (W Davis) – Bounded and lost ground at the start.

TEMPT (J Lyon) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: 0-64 1200m

WISEN UP (B Davis) – Cast the off fore plate in running.

VAL TORIO (S Ridler) – Cast the near fore plate in running. Raced wide on straightening.

NICCOROSSA (K Cross) – Lay inwards under pressure in the early stages of the straight.

DREAM PASSENGER (J Lyon) – Bumped at the start.

TIGRA (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

ALPHA MATE (B Huppatz) – Crowded and impeded at the start.

Race 3: CL2 1100m

SHE RA (F Bergstrand) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Following the race the Veterinarian reported that mare was lame in the off fore. Trainer P Cole was advised that he must present a vet clearance for the mare prior to racing again. Trainer subsequently advised that the lameness was due to an abscess.

IRON JAKE (B Davis) – Bumped at the start. Shifted inwards slightly near the 1000m and bumped another runner. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that his mount was under pressure mid race and failed to finish off as anticipated. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated heart rate.

PRICKLES ( J Lyon) – Bumped and crowded near the 1000m and lost ground.

MACON COUNTY (V Arnott) – Bumped inwards near the 1000m.

SANDHILL EXPRESS (S Ridler) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide on straightening.

Race 4: 0 - 70 1000m

SO STOIC (M Hagley) – Difficult to load. Bounded at the start.

Race 5: BMNT 1600m

Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in regards to the riding instructions he intended to issue bearing in mind his stable had multiple runners in the event.

CRACKAJACK (B Davis) $6 – was declared a late scratching at 6.09pm. The gelding underwent an examination behind the barriers at the request of its rider who expressed concern with its action in the near fore leg and was subsequently withdrawn on veterinary advice. Trainer G Clarke was advised that he must present a vet clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.

All bets placed on CRACKERJACK were ordered to be refunded and successful wagers placed prior to 6.09pm were subject to the following deductions:

MIGHTY TAX (V Arnott) – Commenced with its head in the air at the start. Raced keenly into the first turn and as a result contacted the running rail near the 1400m losing ground and continued to race fiercely in the back straight.

STRATEGIC JEUNY (J Lyon) – Raced wide throughout.


Post race samples were taken from all winners. Pre race samples were taken from HESEZCO, NICOROSSO, IRON JAKE, PRICKLES, EL TORANADO & MIGHT TAX
